August 7 - 18.30-20.00
with Urban Retreat Lab
This month’s mini retreat will be a walking meditation in the city starting at Karla Cafe, 71 Karlavägen.
Tuning into the silence of the city uncovers a whole other secret world.
During short periods of walking meditation we’ll look for the silence of the city, the quietness of our own body and see how communication can come alive in the absence of words. Maybe something of the mystery of existence will be revealed?
How does it work?
When we meet you’ll be given the password to a set of audio recordings, which will be the basis of our retreat. For the next hour and a half we’ll be walking, sitting, and standing together in silence. Each listening to the whispered instructions in our ear, a series of led meditations, reflections and questions.
No one will know that we are meditating, it’s happening in public but in ‘secret’, we won’t be sitting cross legged or waving our malas around. We are simply turning our mind towards the dharma.
You’ll need a smart phone, with a full battery and headphones.
Suitable for anyone with some experience of meditation.
Do I need to book?
No need to book, just turn up, bring a friend or come alone, you’ll be very welcome.
What are pop-up urban retreats?
Who’s got time to go on retreat these days? Hopefully you. But maybe it’s also possible to distil the retreat experience into a few hours, without even leaving the city? This is our new mission - pop-up intensive retreats in the midst of the city.
Previous pop-up retreats have been on a boat, in the Library, Stadsbiblioteket, and on the Tunnelbana, Stockholms underground, overground, metro system. This time we’re taking to the streets.

How much does it cost?
Ulrika and I love money, or we love what money enables us to do. But what we love more is cool dharma arts stuff happening and involving as many people as possible. Feel free to give some money if you want to, but just giving us your presence is priceless!
