An Online Wabi-sabi Day Retreat
1st June
| UK GMT 9.00 - 18.30| Europe CET 10 - 19:30 |
We look for permanence in a world where everything is impermanent. We don’t find it, things just don’t last in the way we think they will.
It’s the same with substance. Things turn out to be so different from how we imagined them. And again with satisfaction: things don’t give us what we think they will.
But what is the alternative?
When we start to look for beauty instead, we find something that goes beyond permanence, substance and satisfaction.
And we find freedom.
This day retreat will be a mixture of meditation, creative assignments, and dharma reflections exploring teachings on the 3 lakshanas.
It ideal to do alone, together with a friend, or in a group. We won’t sit in front of our computers all day, but will take our reflections out into the world. At the beginning of the day, you’ll be given recorded instructions for 2 playful assignments exploring the theme of ‘looking and not finding’.
Each of the assignments will be an invitation to look more deeply. To help with that looking you might use a notebook, pencils, a camera, or audio recorder. Come prepared to play.
